Between IDE and SATA Hardisk. The Power of Convertion.

The converter gives different results between the motherboards with chipset ich7 and ich8 when I install OSX pc version.
At first, I use the converter on Gigabyte 945P to connect the ide drives to the sata ports on the motherboard. It works perfect in OSX PC system, no matter harddisks or DVD writers. You can take the unit combining the harddisk and the converter equal to a REAL sata drive.
Because the ich8 does not support IDE devices, I consider it would be a good way to build sata drives. When I connect IDE hardisk and DVD drive to the sata ports of the motherboard Gigabyte 965P-DS3, DVD drive can not boot and hardisk can not be shown in Disk Utility. I am sure the CMOS are configured right (disable sata native mode), and the real sata harddisks are shown.
