Young Europeans prefer the Internet over TV

Poor old television has just lost to the Internet according to a survey released by the European Interactive Advertising Association (EIAA). Apparently, a majority of the 7,000 survey participants in 10 European go online between five and seven days a week. Only 77 percent watch television just as often with 48 percent saying that their TV consumption has been reduced because of the Internet. A European teen spends an average of 11.9 hours of Internet time every week. 32 percent of the respondents cite the e-mail as particularly indispensable. Participating countries were Belgium, Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.

I wonder what the results will be like in the rest of the world. I guess it must be the same. I myself dont even watch TV anymore. And if I do access my TV, its to watch DVDs. Ask me about the recent TV commercials and I wont be able to answer you. I even get my news over the Internet.

Comcast has announce two new layers of service for the residential internet connection. It is targeted for heavy downloaders, it will upgrade internet connection speed. The two plans are called Extreme and Ultra. The Extreme plan clocks in at 50 downstream and 10 Mbps of upstream while the Ultra clocks in at 22 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream. These are extremely fast connections. And has turned on much of its subscriber. But all these come with a high cost. The speed bumps are being rolled out to 10 markets up till next year. These newest plans from Comcast roughly will cost you around $1700 annually. Three times more expensive than the regular rates they offer. They are also offering a business plan called ‘Premium’ which clocks in at 22 Mbps down and 5 Mbps upstream which costs roughly $100. Not bad for the speed.

Between IDE and SATA Hardisk. The Power of Conversion.

The converter gives different results between the motherboards with chipset ich7 and ich8 when I install OSX pc version.

At first, I use the converter on Gigabyte 945P to connect the ide drives to the sata ports on the motherboard. It works perfect in OSX PC system, no matter harddisks or DVD writers. You can take the unit combining the harddisk and the converter equal to a REAL sata drive.

Because the ich8 does not support IDE devices, I consider it would be a good way to build sata drives. When I connect IDE hardisk and DVD drive to the sata ports of the motherboard Gigabyte 965P-DS3, DVD drive can not boot and hardisk can not be shown in Disk Utility. I am sure the CMOS are configured right (disable sata native mode), and the real sata harddisks are shown.
